Here is an easy, step-by-step Minecraft LEGO birthday cake!

Ingredients:

Box of favorite cake mix + required ingredients
One tub of chocolate frosting
Two tubs of vanilla frosting
Green food coloring

Directions:

While cakes are cooling, mix your colors.

1. Bake cake in two square 9″ pans according to box instructions.
2. While cake cools, mix green food coloring into one vanilla tub.
3. Green should have a light green tone.
4. Lay out a 10″ piece of plastic wrap.
5. Lay a line of light green and dark green frosting down the center of the wrap.
6. Gently roll the colors on top of each other and continue to “Tootsie-Roll” wrap the frosting layers together.
7. Place an open star tip in a frosting bag, followed by the frosting.

Once cakes are cooled, take one of the 9 inch cakes to cut out the squares.

Prep the cake–
1. Cut squares out of one cake layer and place them on top of the full square base layer to create the Minecraft stacked block look.
2. Use the chocolate frosting to place cut squares on top of the base layer.
3. Arrange blocks in however way you like–be creative! Use remaining chocolate frosting to cover the outside edges of the cake to give the dirt layer effect.4. Once squares are set, use the green frosting to gently squeeze the mixed green frosting out. This will create the grass look for the top of the cake.
5. Use LEGO Minecraft figurines to decorate the cake.
