Puppy Chow (also known as Muddy Buddies) is a fun sweet treat that comes together quickly and can be tweaked for any holiday by changing the sprinkles! If you’re not from the Midwest… no don’t give this Puppy Chow to your dog! This recipe is for humans only and insanely delicious!Â
I made this recipe nut free by using Oat Haus Granola Butter, but regular peanut butter can be substituted.
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp Oat Haus Granola Butter flavor of choice (or regular peanut butter)Â
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Rice Chex Cereal (½ box)Â
Chocolate Chips
½ cup powdered sugar (add more for texture as preferred)Â
Instructions:
In a large pot or pan, melt your butter and Granola Butter over low to medium heat. Add in vanilla extract. Â
Once ingredients are melted and mixed together, stir in Rice Chex cereal one cup at a time and stir to coat. Â
Pour the Puppy Chow mixture into a large plastic bag (this holder is a great tool to have) and toss with the powdered sugar and chocolate chips.Â
Transfer the Puppy Chow mixture to a lined baking sheet to cool, spreading evenly to avoid clumping. Â
Prep Time:Â 5 minutes
Cook Time:Â 5 minutes
Total Time:Â 20-40 minutes (depending on how long you let it cool)
Separate Puppy Chow into individual bags for gifting… or just enjoy it all yourself!Â
