Grilled Chicken Marinade

This grilled chicken marinade tenderizes AND flavors your chicken so all you have to do is marinate and grill! An effective marinade contains an acid to tenderize, a fat to add moisture, salt to increase moisture retention, a sweetener for balance and caramelization, and flavor enhancers. This is the perfect combination for a juicy and flavorful grilled protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix Ingredients
  • Put raw chicken into the mixture
  • Let it sit for a minimum of 30 minutes at room temperature or in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (the longer the better)
  • Grill when ready
