Here is an easy, dippable snack that will have everyone enjoying the not-so-spooky fun this Halloween season! These are so popular in our house, the kids ask me to make mummy dogs year-round!
Ingredients:
1 pack of hot dogs
1 pie crust dough
(try our sourdough discard pie crust recipe here!)
Your favorite hot dog toppings!
Directions:
- Make sure hot dogs are removed from the package and completely thawed.
-  Roll Pie crust dough so that it is 1/4 inch thick. If you are using premade, it will be ready to go, just unroll! can be cool or cold. It will make wrapping the “mummies” easier!
- Preheat oven to 375 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. If you don’t have any, line your cookie sheet with foil and use a very light coating of butter or oil to avoid sticking on foil.
- Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips.
- Roll each hot dog in 2-3 strips of dough; alternating the direction of the spiral to create the “mummy” look. Using your finger, press the cross-sections of the dough together so that the dough sticks together and does not fall off.
- Place each wrapped mummy on your cookie sheet at least 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes. Pie crust should be golden brown and hot dogs should sizzling.
- Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauces!

Total time: 32-35 minutes
Other: I used a 5 pack of hot dogs and had pie crust leftover. Depending on the amount of hot dogs you plan to use, you may have to ration the amount of dough that you wrap your mummies with or add another single serving of pie crust dough.
