This Dairy-Free Pumpkin Sauce is the perfect way to add a touch of fall to your favorite drinks and breakfast dishes! Made with simple ingredients that you most likely already have on hand, it brings the cozy flavors of pumpkin and warm spices to your morning coffee, lattes, or even as a drizzle over pancakes or French toast. Whether you’re spicing up your morning routine or looking for a versatile autumn-inspired sauce, this recipe has you covered.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
3/4 cup water
1-2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (measure with your heart!)
1/3 cup pumpkin purée (be sure it’s pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie mix)

Directions:

1.In a medium saucepan, whisk together all ingredients.
2. Cook on medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. If you prefer more of a syrup remove from heat after 5 minutes.
4. If you prefer more of a thicker syrup, let the mixture simmer for about 10 to 15 more minutes while whisking periodically, or until you’ve reached the desired consistency.
5. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
6. Serve it right away or allow it to cool and transfer it to a mason jar or other storage container.

Other:This is a great alternative to get a fall-inspired pumpkin sauce without the sweetened condensed milk that so many recipes include. Use this sauce to sweeten and flavor your coffee, lattes, or hot chocolate or to flavor your own cold-foam at home. Who needs Starbucks when you can make your own at home! Drizzle it over pancakes, waffles, or French toast as an alternative to maple syrup. Add a spoonful to oatmeal or yogurt for a seasonal twist.
Storage: Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in an air-tight container.
