Men and women who wore our nation’s uniform continue to answer the call of duty after returning home. They make a difference in their communities across the country, and their stories deserve to be told.
That’s why we are partnering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars to bring you the stories of female veterans who are #stillserving.
The VFW launched their #StillServing campaign in early 2020 to honor how veterans use the skills and leadership lessons they learned in the military to make our world a better place. Today’s VFW is made up of veterans of every generation who know service doesn’t end when you leave the military. They have each other’s backs and give people hope.
DIANA LOADER
Diana is so friendly and affable. In my conversations with her, we talked and laughed about everything from parenting neurodiverse kids, military life, family, and more.
You would never guess the health challenges that this veteran, wife, and mother has and continues to experience.
Diana Loader served as a USAF crew chief. She entered active-duty after high school with a strong legacy of military service in her family. But she never imagined doing this high paced, demanding, and challenging job. She grew to love the field, her fellow airmen, and even met her husband through the military and field!
Life became more complicated as she gave birth to both her children on active-duty and experienced health complications at the same time. After years of surgeries, hospital stays, doctor appointments, and tests, she was diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction type III. This rare condition changed her military career and life.
With this change and the health conditions of her children and husband, Diana was able to pivot into a full-time caregiver, women’s dignity advocate, and freelance writer. And her military service helped her prepare for life’s challenges.

Diana also operates Dignity Drive for Wayne. This is a group of local homeschoolers and area businesses in eastern North Carolina that help local women and girls in the community by providing free hygiene products. Their mission is to restore dignity and self-respect to the women.
